ITINERARY
Participants will travel on their own up to Oregon, from location-to-location, and then back to Sonoma County. It is up to the participants to secure transportation. The ITINERARY is below. A printable itinerary can be found HERE.
Here is a suggested PACKING LIST. Note, weather forecasts in Oregon can change quickly. Always a good idea to bring layers and some rain gear.
NEW!!!
Route options are provided on separate pages (see menu bar above) and also at this link, where files for Garmin type devices can also be downloaded. A zip file with TCX files available HERE (save zip file to your computer at this link).
Please print your own route slips - we will have a few copies available. Go to the route pages on the menu bar - at the top of the page for each location are link to printable route slips for each ride.
Saturday May 22
Everyone needs to be at the first location, in Ashland OR (a 6-7 hour drive from Sonoma County), by ~4pm. We will have a meeting and happy hour refreshments at around 5pm (details TBD). You will pick up your lunch items in the hotel (look for signage in the lobby). We ask that people come to the lobby in small groups in compliance with Covid rules.
Sunday May 23 - Tuesday May 25
Rides in Ashland/Medford/Rogue area. Everything from an easy bike path along Bear Creek, a ride from Ashland to Jacksonville, opt to ride a metric century from Jacksonville to the Rogue River parkway and Grant's Pass then over the Applegate pass . Or some shorter rolling terrain loops. On Sunday evening there will be a group dinner in the "English Garden" at the Ashland Springs Hotel.
Rides on Tuesday should be on the shorter side as we will drive that afternoon from Ashland to Bend (a 3-4 hr drive).
Wednesday May 26 – Saturday May 29
Rides in/around Bend, ranging from short and fairly flat/rolling to longer and hilly and something in between. Pick from multiple routes each day leaving from the hotel or elsewhere including an option to do the Sisters/McKenzie Pass climb. There are MANY possible routes and having vehicles means you could drive to a start location a short distance from Bend, which opens up even more options.
We will have a group dinner event on Thursday. The plan is to visit one of Bend's Food Truck "villages" - a very Oregon thing! The one we are looking at is The Podski.
Sunday May 30
We all depart back to Sonoma County (about 9 hours drive).
